As part of America 250 celebrations, Iron County School District Foundation sponsored the "What America Means to Me," essay contest for students in three categories —
5th grade; middle school (6-8), and high school (9-12). Students were encouraged to share their thoughts on what makes living in America so fantastic.
Congratulations to our winners:
• High School essay - Ava Rowley, Canyon View High School;
• Middle School essay (6th-8th grade) — Jocelyn Concepcion, Escalante Valley Elementary;
• Fifth-grade essay — Olivia Barney, Iron Springs Elementary
Students were invited to read their winning essays during "A Celebration of Our Nation's Birth" concert on October 27.
