In preparation for the new East Elementary building opening in the fall and the addition at Canyon View High, the Board of Education is considering boundary changes throughout the district.
Small tweaks were recently made to the proposed boundary changes. The new proposal will impact the proposed boundaries at East, South, North, Iron Springs and Three Peaks. Interactive maps are available.
The district is also proposing that the suggested changes to middle school and high school boundaries not go into effect until the 2027-28 school year as the expansion at Canyon View High School will not be complete in the fall of 2026.
The next steps in the boundary realignment process include an open house from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 12 at Canyon View and Cedar middle schools. Parents will have an opportunity to give input and ask questions as well as view large maps of the boundaries. A public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 17 in the district office boardroom, 2077 W. Royal Hunte Drive. The board is scheduled to give the boundary changes a final review during its regular meeting Feb. 24.
