Iron County School District appreciates the cooperation of students, teachers and parents/guardians as all ICSD schools located in Cedar City and Enoch followed a Secure Action Protocol on Thursday, April 11. The secure action was a precautionary measure put in place while Southern Utah University investigated a possible threat on its campus.
Those unfamiliar with the terms used in emergency situations, you can review the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) at https://www.irondistrict.org/page/emergency-plan. The adoption of the SRP took place in 2023.
Use of the SRP is just one of many procedures the district has established to provide a consistent and proactive approach to school safety. School safety is a concern across the U.S. ICSD is taking many steps to alleviate concerns about the safety of students in our schools.
