The Board of Education voted to allow the public to consider the reinstatement of the Cedar High School Redmen name through a public vote. Six board members voted for the motion with Tiffiney Christiansen as the dissenting vote.
The Redmen discussion was placed on the agenda at the request of board members Lauren Lewis, Dave Staheli and Jeff Corry. After hours of public comment, board discussion and a failed motion to reinstate the name, Board Member Megen Ralphs proposed letting the public decide.
