The Board of Education of Iron County School District voted to sanction lacrosse for boys and girls at Canyon View and Cedar high schools. Both schools currently have club teams.
Cedar High Athletic Director Danny Lewis said Washington School District also recently sanctioned lacrosse. Sanctioning lacrosse in Iron County gives athletes the opportunity to play against neighboring teams. With WSD sanctioning the sport, the club teams would not be able to compete against those sanctioned teams in 2025.
