Virtu Advocate Award

Troy Lunt, the director of Technology in Iron County School District, was recently named as a winner in the inaugural Virtru Vanguard Awards, which celebrate Innovation and leadership in data protection, privacy and sovereignty. The Virtru Vanguard Awards honor Virtru customers and partners who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and innovative thinking i n their cybersecurity strategies. Lunt was named the Advocate of the Year.

Lunt joined ICSD in 2014, as Technology Director.  He also assumed the role of Data Privacy Manager, following the passage of the Utah Privacy Act of 2017.  Prior to his current position, Troy worked for over 20 years in software development, specifically as director and vice president of customer/technical support teams, and professional services departments. Lunt has found the support of K-12 education to be incredibly satisfying. 

"Nothing is more important than caring for the education and safety of our students ... our children," he said.  From his two (plus) decades of experience in software development, Troy understands the importance of developing a strong relationship and partnership with key application providers (such as Virtru).  

Winners were selected from over 8,000 customers and users. The State of Utah also won the VIrtru Vanguard Award for State & Local Government.
