secondary team of the year

Each year Iron County School District honors an elementary, secondary and classified team for exemplifying the district’s mission.

During Opening Institute, district administrators recognized the teams and their exemplary efforts. The honored teams were: District Office Team, Canyon View Middle School music team, Fiddlers Elementary behavior team.

The Classified Exemplary Service award went to a team that has pulled together through a year of challenging changes that have and continue to affect all of the employees of Iron County School District. The district implemented a complete HR Management System overhaul to include a new recruiting, hiring and onboarding system. It was a change that became a challenge and took many hours of hard work and creativity to make it work. Business Administrator Todd Hess said: “This amazing team has stepped up to every task with excellence, energy, and grace.” Congratulations to the District Office Team: Cori Hyatt, Christy Douglas, Kelli Brown, Cori Twitchell, Sarah Williams, Shari Reber, LeAnn Woolstenhulme, Michelle Barlow, Monica Torres and Gina Delange.

Members of the Canyon View Middle School, music department were honored for finding ways to help students love music and grow their programs. The nomination outlined how each teacher has embraced the concept of the Professional Learning Community, even though they are singletons.  Congratulations to Lauralyn Anderson, Teresa Redd and Jacob Chipman.

Fiddlers Elementary behavior team was recognized for identifying repetitive behaviors in a group of students, putting together plans and dedicating additional resources to help the students. The result? By the end of the year 100 percent of the group showed a decrease in behaviors. Shout out to Korina Wood, Becky Savage, Triessa Hepworth, Jill Bassett and Eric Allred for their hard work.
