Today and tomorrow are the final days to order white t-shirts (to be worn during the event) and extra color packets (if your child wants their own colored chalk to throw)
Orders must be submitted by end of day TOMORROW (9/23)

Our COLOR RUN Celebration is NEXT THURSDAY! If you haven’t had a chance to donate yet, there’s still time — every dollar truly makes a difference. We are thrilled to invite you to a very special event as part of the Southwest Astronomy Festival—an exclusive opportunity just for educators!
On Saturday, September 13th at 6 pm, Dr. Jesse Christiansen, Chief Scientist at NASA’s Exoplanet Science Institute, will be joining us at ICSD's District Office to share her groundbreaking work in the search for planets beyond our solar system. This is a rare chance to hear directly from a leading NASA scientist and to connect with the wonder, discovery, and "cool factor" of cutting-edge space exploration.
In addition to this teacher session, you are welcome to attend any of the other events throughout the Astronomy Festival. To honor your participation in any of the events, you will complete a short reflection form connecting what you learned to your classroom practice or lesson planning. Upon submission, you’ll receive a stipend in recognition of your professional learning.
We also want this to be a family-friendly experience—please feel free to bring family members along to enjoy this and the other festival events.

News Nugget: We have been so excited to get to know all our new polar bears this school year! Classrooms have been busy getting into their routines and learning our S.T.A.R. expectations. One great tradition students look forward to is our 2nd/5th grade buddies. Students mentor and complete a variety of activities through the year together. This week Ms. Fotheringham and Mrs. Wright’s classes were working on a “Get to Know My Buddy” activity.
As part of remembering September 11th, students and teachers read stories and engaged in activities that highlighted themes of hope, service, and caring for our community.

All students are encouraged to create a project representing the theme of "I Belong" in the categories of: 2D visual art, 3D visual art, dance choreography, music composition, film production, literature, or photography.

Our annual PTA fundraiser began on Friday and will end with a Color Run on September 25th. Make sure to register your child on our fundhub website. Your student will receive prizes for registration, first donation of any amount, $30 donation, and $100 donation. Top collectors in the class and top collectors for the whole school will also receive prizes. The money raised will help fund our pta events, support field trips, and help teachers in their classrooms.

State Bank of Southern Utah has offered to support our local elementary PTAs with an amazing campaign. During the month of September, they will donate 10 cents to Iron County PTAs each time a State Bank debit card is used at an Iron County business. The maximum donation is $9,000 split between our 9 elementaries. This can be up to $1,000 for your individual PTA! We are so grateful for State Bank's generosity.

Most of you have already done this, but we are sending out one last reminder for parents. We have published Powerschool help on our school website with links to tutorials. Please take a second to look at that if you have questions before you call the office. ALL students need to have their PowerSchool forms signed online by August, 31st, otherwise their computers will be shut off on Sept 1st.
