Getting your Utah Drivers License is a Process...

Please look over the following information:

  1. You must go to the Driver's License Division and get a Utah Learner's permit by taking the written exam. (You must be 15 years old)

  2. You must have the Learner's permit for at least 6 months before you can get your license. (unless you are 18)

  3. When you turn 15 and a half years old, you must take the Driver's Ed and simulator class.

  4. In order to take the class, you must get a registration form in the front office and pay the $150 fee to Mrs. Taylor in the main office or online on the CHS website.

  5. There is a morning and afternoon class each quarter. The morning class runs from 6:30 - 7:15 am. The afternoon class runs from 3:15 - 4:00 pm in room #101.
    6. Starting in the fall of 2025, students who take an online Driver's Education course must do their behind the wheel and observation hours with that institution. Please note, in order to complete the behind the wheel and observation portion of Driver's Education with Cedar High School's instructors, students must be registered for Cedar High School's Driver's Education course.
    Drivers Education Course Registration is available for all CHS, SEA, & Launch students.

2nd Quarter Class- Registration October 13-24, 2025
Class runs October 27-December 12
Students must turn 16 by April 27, 2026

3rd Quarter Class- Registration January 6-16, 2026
Class runs January 20-March 6
Students must turn 16 by July 20, 2026

4th Quarter Class- Registration 
Class runs March 23-May 15
Students must turn 16 by September 23, 2026
Mandatory Parent Meeting- Date TBD, 6pm @CVHS Auditorium

Summer Class -Registration will be May 4, 2026 until the class is full
Students must turn 16 by November 1, 2026
Class is all online through Canvas
