Anyone that is interested in being a part of this year's Nutcracker production, auditions will be Aug. 31st in the CVHS auditorium. Canyon View FFA is having an info meeting Aug. 26th in the Ag room, 100 @ 6:00pm. Come learn about FFA and what it’s all about. Bring a parent or guardian.

There will be Esports Proving Ground (tryouts), Aug. 26 – Aug 28 @ 3:00pm in the Esports Lab.

Often they are behind the scenes, but we wanted to bring our facility maintenance staff forward to show our appreciation for all they do to make schools run smoothly. Recently, Iron County School District administrators started their day a little early to put together a breakfast for the maintenance and facilities staff, including custodians, ground crews, warehouse and more. The group was recognized as the team of the year for all the work they do.

To celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Day, our local McDonald’s owner/operators have approved a fundraiser on Tuesday, May 7 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. where 20% of all digital sales during that period will be tracked and donated to the Iron County School District Foundation. That money is used to support teachers and classrooms with funding that cannot be met through regular budgets.
It is a simple process for you to help:

The restaurants will track all digital app sales and will donate the percentage to our district.


The last day to order your 2024 yearbook is Friday, May 3rd--or until they sell out! Remember, yearbooks have sold out in past years, so secure yours today.

The CVHS Dance Concert will be on Thursday, April 24 and Friday April 25 @ 7:30 pm. in the auditorium. Admission is $3.

Just a reminder that teachers will be involved in professional development for the rest of the week. There will be no school for students March 13, 14 and 15 (Wednesday-Friday). District offices will be open regular hours Wednesday and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday.


Senior students if you are interested in applying for Merit Diplomas please check the Canyon View High School website. Go to Academics, then Counseling and then Merit Diplomas. If you have any further questions please contact Mrs. Taintor in the counseling department. Please note that all forms are due March 22nd by noon. Students can apply for multiple Merit Diplomas from the different departments.

Any Juniors who are interested in attending Boys State or Girls State please sign up for an interview in the counseling office. Boys state will be held June 9th-June 15th at Weber State University. To qualify to participate you must have a 2.0 GPA. Each participant will receive 3 semester hours of college credit (pass/fail) in Political Science. The credit is transferable to other institutions. Each participant will get head-of-the-line scholarship offers that must be used at Weber State. The cost for Boys State is $350.00. The application and more information can be found in Canvas, while the application will open on March 1st & close on April 15th please get signed up for your interview now.

All Juniors will be attending Utah Higher Education Day/College Tour on February 22nd from 8:00am-10:25am, it will be held at CVHS starting in the auditorium. Your registration forms will be sent to your Flex teachers, please make sure you attend as attendance will be taken.

Calling all JUNIORS!! The ACT test is quickly approaching! CVHS is offering ACT Prep classes now! This will be during FLEX on B days from March 4th-29th in the CVHS Media Center. Sign up is easy! Go to suu.edu/stem and click on the ACT tab then fill out the form. An ACT Prep class can help you significantly increase your score and help you to better understand how the test works. The district test is on April 10th so get prepared now! This class is offered by the SUU STEM Center and CVHS

Due to snow accumulation, all Iron County School District schools will follow a two-hour delayed start on Thursday, Jan. 11.. School start times and transportation schedules will run two hours later than normal. Morning preschool is canceled. Please check secondary bell schedules for specific class period start times. The school day will end at the regular time.
Early morning practices and other before school activities will not be held. Any field trips scheduled for departure at the beginning of the school day are also canceled.
If the weather continues to create unsafe conditions, more information will be communicated by 8 a.m.
As during all adverse conditions, we encourage parents to make attendance decisions for their children based on their specific ability to get to school safely. We trust parents to make the ultimate call when it comes to their child's safety. Teachers will work with students to make up any missed assignments.
