Mr. Kent Peterson, who has served as the Iron County School District's Business Administrator for the last 45 years, will officially retire at the end of December. Kent's exemplary service has kept the district in sound financial standing, and we are appreciative of his service to educators, students, and staff. Upon his retirement, Mr. Todd Hess will assume the BA position and officially be recognized and his appointment ratified during the Iron County School Board's December meeting. We extend a warm welcome to Mr. Hess.

Todd Hess began his professional accounting career in 1997 as an intern with HintonBurdick CPAs & Advisors during which time he learned that every individual in an organization shares responsibility for its success. In the years since then, Todd has had extensive experience with HintonBurdick in providing audit, accounting, and consulting services to local governments, for-profit companies, and not-for-profit organizations. Drawing upon his desire for teaching and lifting others, he was instrumental in developing HintonBurdick’s Local Government Seminar and has been a presenter at the seminar since its inception over 15 years ago. He has enjoyed teaching, presenting at seminars, and facilitating training for both the firm and its clients. In addition to his work at HintonBurdick, Todd has also taught accounting and auditing courses as a full-time member of the accounting faculty at Dixie State University since the Fall of 2011. He is passionate about helping organizations, and his students become successful in finding solutions to problems and meeting their personal and organizational goals. Having been raised in a small town, Todd has always had a special place in his heart for the underdog who not only succeeds individually but who also lifts others along the way. When he is not at work, you will find him working in the yard, coaching his kids’ teams, cooking with his wife, or cheering on the local high school athletic teams.
